Seeking Together A New Direction

Mission Statement: To introduce students to a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ, guide them to a place of healing and equip them to live beyond themselves.

The Spirit of the Lord God has taken control of me!
The Lord has chosen and sent me to tell the oppressed the good news,
to heal the brokenhearted, and to announce freedom for prisoners and captives.

Isaiah 61:1

Core Values:

  • Evangelism - Youth come to Hermitage House with many hurts and needs; what they need more than anything is a relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Dynamic Biblical Teaching - Scripture is the foundation for all true and lasting life-change. Dynamic anointed teaching is the primary catalyst for the process of life-change.
  • Spiritual Growth - Getting to know and love God with all our hearts, minds and bodies is the greatest purpose and privilege of one's life
  • Safe and Healthy Relationships - The biggest emotional scars that students carry come from wounds inflicted by the very people they should have been able to trust the most. Establishing new relationships with loving and safe adults can restore their hope and help them deal with their wounds in a redemptive way
  • Service - Living beyond oneself is the only true path toward fulfillment and purpose in life
  • After-Client Care - Students need to establish safe and loving friendships with adults from whom they draw strength, comfort, encouragement and guidance for the rest of their lives
  • Team Leadership Development -Adults are identified, equipped and empowered to invest in the lives of students so that the youth may experience transformation and healing

S.T.A.N.D. has had a positive effect in teaching the youth about treating others with respect, forgiving others, and how to become better individuals.

Participants have commented that, "It's a very upbeat way to teach us about the Bible and about Jesus," and it provides a "different look on life."

The rapid growth in youth attendance attests to the popularity of the S.T.A.N.D. Program.
